Library Utilization Monitoring System

The Library Utilization Monitoring System (LUMS) is a Capstone Project developed by Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students. This technology has been adopted by the Quirino State University (QSU) Knowledge Centers in Diffun, Cabarroguis, and Maddela.

The first version of LUMS was fully implemented in March 2012 at the Quirino State College Library, now the QSU Knowledge Center of Diffun Campus. It was subsequently implemented at the Maddela Campus in 2016 and the Cabarroguis Campus in 2019.

The main functions of LUMS are to systemize the transactions of borrowing and returning library collections, consolidate and monitor patrons' library utilization and transactions, and produce necessary reports.

LUMS includes an Open Public Access Catalog (OPAC), which provides access to all bibliographic information and electronic library catalogs of the QSU Knowledge Center.
